Liryc has been granted additional public funding by the National Research Agency (NRA) of €16 million for the 2020-2024 period, following the very positive valuation made by the international jury following their visit last June.

Created in 2010 as part of the Future Investments Program, the 6 University Hospital Institutes (UHI) aim to strengthen France's attractiveness in the field of medical research and innovation. At the end of 2017, the UHIs were informed by Prime Minister Edouard Philippe of an investigation by an international jury, for the purpose of a potential extension part of the initial funding for the 2020-2025 period - this additional funding, however, doesn't exempt the institute from the long-term objective of self-financing for the IHUs.

Therefore, the international jury that visited the Liryc site on June 24th, gave a very positive evaluation emphasizing the scientific excellence and international attractiveness of the institute. Convinced by the quality and credibility of the scientific program and the 2020-2025 strategic plan, the NRA followed the jury's evaluation, granting additional funding of €16 million to the institute. It is important to note that this additional funding also corresponds to 29% of the overall funding of the IHU Liryc.
