Professor Michel Haissaguerre received last June the Luigi Luciani Electrophysiology Award in Ascoli, Italy.
This prize was created in memory of the famous scientist Luigi Luciani. It awards cardiologists specialized in electrophysiology whose career can be distinguished by its scientific merits and which has given a fundamental impetus to the discipline.
The 2019 edition celebrated on the occasion of the centenary of the death of Luigi Luciani, has rewarded Professor Michel Haissaguerre, "one of the most brilliant minds of the contemporary scientific scene, author of the most important scientific articles in the field of heart rhythm disorders".
Pedro Brugada, scientist, laureate of the first edition of the Luigi Luciani electrophysiology prize in 2017, presented the prize to Pr Haissaguerre.
