In a section dedicated to innovation in the TF1 TV News , the " Electrocardiogram of the future" was presented. It is a mapping system of cardiac electrical activity consisting of an array of 252 electrodes arranged on a vest, used in the department of cardiology-cardiac electrophysiology and pacing, headed by Professor Michel Haissaguerre, to improve ablation procedures.
This system non invasively gathers electrical information recorded from the body surface to provide 3-D images of electrical activity of the entire heart. This unique method provides:
- A vest capturing surface electrical signals for non invasive acquisition
- Analyzis of the heart and thorax anatomy by the scan
- The system reconstructs high density epicardial 3-D electroanatomical maps and electrograms of the whole heart on a single beat
- Rapid localisation of arrhythmogenique regions saves times and enables a higher level of precision for ablation.
