Governance

The Aquitaine Regional Council has become involved in this project by providing a financial contribution, mainly invested in the construction of the building.

Liryc is the result of a partnership agreement between the University of Bordeaux, the CHU de Bordeaux hospital authorityInria, INSERM (French National Institute of Health and Medical Research) and CNRS.

It is managed through a foundation, the Fondation Bordeaux Université.

Under its auspices, Liryc, with the status of a “scientific co-operation foundation”, can align itself with some projects’ or donor’s specific requirements.

Its operation is shared with that of Fondation Bordeaux Université, while maintaining some independence in its decision-making powers.

Liryc’s strategic and general directions are set by a Admnistrative Board and an International Scientific Advisory Board which rely on an Executive Committee to instruct and supervise the programme of activities.

Administrative Board

The Administrative Board is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Institute by deciding on its strategic direction, while exercising control over its management and financial health.

It is chaired by Michel Vounatsos, CEO Monde de Biogen, and is made up of representatives from :

  • The Institute's various institutional and industrial partners
  • The medical and scientific bodies involved in the project.
International Scientific Advisory Board

Liryc's International Scientific Advisory Board is made up of international leaders in the field of cardiac electrophysiology. It aims to issue an opinion on the Institute's major scientific direction and its annual action plan :

  • Prof. Barbara CASADEI, Oxford University, UK
  • Pr Dobromir DOBREV, Duisburg-Essen University, Germany
  • Pr Srijoy MAHAPATRA, Minnesota University, USA
